Killing the journalist won’t kill the story

On November 2, the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, Society and Forbidden Stories are announcing a unique collaboration: a special 100-page issue, to be published on December 11, devoted to investigations that some would have preferred never to see published. From Russian disinformation in the Central African Republic to the targeting of journalists in Gaza by the Israeli army; from environmental crimes in Guatemala to gangs in Haiti; from secret Russian torture centers in Ukraine and Russia to revelations about the Pegasus spyware, this special edition brings to life powerful stories, conducted at the risk of the lives of the journalists who initiated them.

Behind this project lies a shared conviction: to bring to life the stories that others have tried to silence. Each investigation presented in this issue continues the work of reporters who have been murdered, imprisoned, or threatened, and who have paid a heavy price for revealing facts in the public interest.

A special edition event

This issue features:

  • in-depth reports on exclusive investigations,
  • profiles of reporters who have been murdered or imprisoned,
  • insights into the mechanisms of censorship, disinformation, and impunity,
  • and a behind-the-scenes look at Forbidden Stories’ SafeBox Network, which protects the work of journalists in danger.

Available in newsstands and online on December 11, 2025
