Editorial independence policy

Forbidden Stories maintains a strict separation between its editorial decisions and all sources of revenue. Editorial decisions are made independently and transparently. No donor or institution influences Forbidden Stories’ reporting.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policy

Forbidden Stories is committed to ensuring respect for diversity within its staff, decision-making bodies, partners and beneficiaries, and aims to reflect the diversity of the communities it serves in its editorial choices and priorities.

Policy against harassment

Forbidden Stories advocates a respectful, productive, supportive, and appreciative culture and workplace in which every individual is treated with fairness and respect. Accordingly, Forbidden Stories prohibits conduct that constitutes or could lead to harassment of any kind by anybody.

SafeBox Network Charter

The SafeBox Network is a mechanism developed by Forbidden Stories that allows journalists who are threatened due to their investigative work to share their information so that the organization and its partners are able to continue the journalists’ work if they are killed, kidnapped or imprisoned.
