Forbidden Stories thanks the Proton community for helping us keep stories alive

Forbidden Stories received a generous donation of $50,000 through the 2023 Lifetime Charity Fundraiser organized by the secure encrypted email service Proton Mail. Forbidden Stories is one of the ten beneficiaries of this fundraiser, which supports organizations “fighting for online privacy, freedom of expression, and other humanitarian causes around the world.”
“Proton’s commitment to enhancing online privacy is crucial, especially in a time where surveillance can be turned against journalists. This aligns with Forbidden Stories’ mission to pursue the investigations of assassinated journalists and enable the most at-risk ones to secure their sensitive information through the SafeBox Network. Backing us via Proton’s Lifetime Fundraiser will help us make sure that a maximum number of people have access to information of public interest,” said Laurent Richard, Executive Director and Founder of Forbidden Stories.
This donation will support the the sustainability of our organization and our efforts in keeping stories alive and supporting threatened journalists through the SafeBox Network.
